In 2004 whilst on a residency in Taiwan I had the good fortune to attend Cai Guo Chang’s extraordinary art event on Jinmen Island. Jinmen was a tiny island nestled between China and Taiwan and had been a flash point between the countries for many years. Cai Guo Chang curated an ambitious art event that was the first artistic collaboration between the countries on a notable scale.

To my surprise the piece attracted much attention back in London and was quickly broadcast on both Channel4 national news and  BBC World.

I include a copy of the channel 4 broadcast here.

This project led to me filming and broadcasting several further reports from Taiwan for BBC World and BBC News 24 on the following subjects;

           -The opening of Taipei 101 - the world’s tallest building
           -Wego Motels a report on Taipei’s unique luxury love hotels
           -Tainan Tai An Lu, an extraordinary public art event that
                created a permanent outdoor art gallery 1 kilometre long.
