The Morris Jelly House Of Fashion

Completed in 1998 and 12 minutes long.

The film tells the true story of the life and death of Morris Jelly an Anglio-Indian down and out in Calcutta. The film is narrated by an Australian doctor Peter Donald who was working in street side clinic and knew Morris well.

The film was a labour of love. And like the streets of Calcutta it is cobbled together from all sorts of found, begged, borrowed and stolen ideas, artifacts and technologies. Some of it is high tech and much of it low tech. The film contains more than 5000 hand painted images.
